Anxiety Triggered Inflammation – 3 Decisive Ways to Break the Cycle

Dear Ed,

Recently, the majority of inflammatory conditions I’ve been noticing have been anxiety triggered.

People feel helpless, Ed, when told to “just calm down,” and “Stop being anxious.” Once you’re actually breaking out in inflammations and allergies, and putting on water weight (fluid retention), that’s already the body saying that anxiety that should be expressed is being suppressed.

Unfortunately, Ed, despite decades of an unofficial movement stressing that emotions should be released instead of held in, in everyday reality, people still are constrained and held back.

I recently posted this on my Instagram account (just a few weeks old and currently blocked for “review” for the second time in 2 weeks, could be disabled this time – and I didn’t even post anything rebellious – if you know what I mean – @mytimelesssoul ) .

You see Ed, a simple way to release anxiety is to cry, when you feel like it, without needing to know the reason why you’re crying. First cry, then figure out why. The crying is the basic release. The figuring out what’s the cause will come easy after.

I was watching this reality show on TV. And every time one of the contestants cried, the “friends” descended on the crying one like it was a major tragedy erupting, and the fire had to be put out immediately. Reasons, causes, solutions, all that. And, “C’mon now, stop crying.”

That’s how you set up a case of long term anxiety triggered inflammation. Want a reason for the crying.

If the anxiety has got an obvious reason Ed, people get irritated if they have to stop crying and start talking all over again about what’s troubling them. It drains them. This over time results in the body simply getting drained as soon as anxiety kicks in, because that pattern has set in.

In cases of severe anxiety suppression, Ed, seen in cases of those who cannot “break down” because they have to be strong for others and so on, caregivers and such, what happens is literally overheating of the brain and nervous system as the person instead of letting out the emotional energy directs it to the brain and nervous system to rationalize things.

This overheating directly causes inflammation in places.

To cool the place down, lymph or water is brought into the area, resulting in fluid retention, and over time hyper reactions to allergens and other extreme imbalanced immune system dramas.

So many people everywhere are trying to lose weight that’s nothing but long term fluid retention caused by chronic inflammation, caused by anxiety suppression instead of anxiety expression.

Now Ed, I’ve been through some terrible times in my life. Let me just say I’ve lived decades with severe anxiety triggered everything all the way to having two heart attacks at 19 years of age.

I must’ve done something that works, as I’ve reached the milestone of 40 despite very extreme situations.

It’s something I learned from the days I lived next door to wild cannabis in the mountains. I had cannabis leaves in salads, leaves in sauces and curries, leaves boiled in milk.

The view from over the garden wall. 😉

I got through one hot summer and a chilling, cold, cold winter.

I later wondered how I got through those days which were very very stressful days for me (not just because of the weather, but other things as well). I realized it was because the cannabis I was eating everyday, had kept me relaxed and emotionally expressive instead of suppressed.

I was thinking about it when I was watching the contestants on that show freaking out because someone was crying. When someone is actually crying, or facing an allergy flaring up, or a migraine, or a burning wherever; that’s not the time and moment when you can just say something or do something to solve the problem.

What’s required is to change the basic emotional state you’re in all of the time, not just then in that moment of crisis.

I was telling you some weeks ago about emotional states versus emotional reactions. We need very much to know the difference because its our emotional state that’s affecting us really and our reactions don’t need that much attention.

In treating long term anxiety triggered conditions, the three things to do are;

1) Stop needing a reason to cry. Cry first. Think later.

2) Change basic emotional state to pleasure rather than trauma.

I know it sounds a little on the crazy side. But it works.

You know why cannabis cures even cancer Ed?

Because hormones released through pleasure – which includes the basic pleasure we get when we cry and experience deep emotion – those are crazy amazing healing agents.

For millennia Ed, the powers that should not be, have done everything to make humans believe that pleasure is bad and sinful. That one should avoid pleasure. That;s because pleasure is so powerful. Pleasure hormones or cannabinoids (that which cannabis is named after); we make them too.

When we are in a state of trauma too much, our body’s ability to make pleasure hormones atrophies and we begin to have anxiety triggered conditions. The worst is when we have no pleasures to look forward to. That’s just killing.

So it’s pretty simple, we have to get back to our natural baby pleasure attitude, instead of a trauma, no pleasure, state.

This, Ed, when sustained, is serious healing for anxiety disorders.

In even the worst situations, Ed, we can be pleasure oriented, enjoying the little pleasures of life. My Granddad, Ed, who lived so long and in such style, he would so enjoy and take pleasure in little things. He treated them as very important and he turned me around from my previous trauma based attitude to experiencing pleasure without feeling like I was betraying myself or anyone else, or trivializing the bad side of the situation, by experiencing pleasure. It’s a particular problem for people who grew up in religious environments.

And #3 – There are herbs and foods that can help bring in this pleasure relaxed state. I’m not talking about mood uplifters – those are ok now and then. I’m talking about actually pleasurable eating and drinking.

We manifest our bodies to experience pleasure, not to hang about doing perfect tasks. So through the day if we don’t feel little pleasures and joys, naturally, our soul starts getting anxious. What’s the point of all the trouble taken to be born, grow up, and all that, if we’re not going to experience pleasure? What’s it all for?

Herbs for Rehabilitation from Anxiety Triggered Chronic Flare-ups

Ed, there are very many nervines that help:

Mugwort, Wormwood (Both of those are Artimisia family) – Both for when the vulnerability to flare-ups is more around hormonal incidents such as a monthly period or just after sex
Vervain – For those with long term nervous energy draining
Borage – For those who experience joint pain and drop in body temperature with anxiety attacks
Cactus – For those with self harm tendencies, and who lose hair through anxiety attacks
Damiana – For those with a history of sexual energy abuse, sexual energy drains and surges
Elecampane – For those with a childhood history of bronchitis, asthma and respiratory problems going along with anxiety attacks
Yerba Mate – Ilex Paraguayensis – For those who feel choked, dizzy during anxiety attacks
Sarsaparilla – For those whose anxiety triggered sin conditions leave scars

These are just the base, Ed, basic support to recover from the somatic long term effects of anxiety flare-ups.

To seriously break the cycle of anxiety triggered inflammation, we need to provide help in the moment to the organs that experience the vibrational assault in the moment and have to do the clean up of the debris from the attac later.

Very often this bit is left out when treating anxiety disorders.

The thing is, when a person has been experiencing anxiety attacks for a while, the organs of the body bearing the toll of the experience get into trauma mode and could even atrophy. A stark case is Diabetes, in which the Pancreas being bombarded through anxiety triggered energy surges and drains, begins to atrophy and under-perform resulting in sugar mismanagement in the body.

So something very important to do is actually support the affected organs in healing. The following is a simple guide based on how anxiety attacks effect your body.

1) Skin conditions and flare-ups
This means your liver and lungs need rehabilitation. Milk thistle is a favorite for the liver, Elecampane for the Lungs

2) Joint, Bone and Muscle Pain and aches (Fibromyalgia for example)
Gingko for nervous support to the nerves involved, Guiacum for oxygenation, Horsetail (Equisetum) for cell health support of bones

3) Heavy bleeding in women; paleness with anemic tendencies
Papaya leaf, Pomegranate, Rosehips, Pulsatilla Support for Blood building and Womb health

4) Sexual energy loss, general fatigue, sleep quality loss
Spikenard, Damiana, Mistletoe, Yarrow, Yew (Highly diluted!), Sempervivum (the Welsh Houseleek), Quince

5) Loss of motivation, mental focus
Brahmi (Bacopa Monieri), Walnut (Juglans Regia), Acorus Calamus, All natural clays (neutralize nervous static energy charge) See also – Herbs for Demagnetization

6) Diarhhea, IBS and Digestive System Imbalances
Probiotics, Licorice, Slippery Elm Bark, Activated Charcoal Powder

This is just a general guide, Ed. It’s not a good idea to use herbs like allopathic pills, popped in to suppress a symptom. Suppression of the body is not the aim. Support of the body and rehabilitation from the damage caused by previous attacks is the aim.

Herbs are my favorite way to support the body, because the consciousness of plants is understood by the human body so well. Herbs can be carried around in a little bottle, and easily dropped into the mouth whenever. There’s the convenience. However, actual herbal teas and foods such as good fat natural oils and natural real food can make all the difference. Breathing exercises are powerful as are hand massaging exercises.

I leave you with pics of three anxiety relieving tropical herbs I’ve recently begun to like a lot.

Albizia – Excellent for anxiety triggered flare ups of any kind, really. I recently even put the leaves into a lentil curry and my son LOVED it.
Mimosa – just beautifully energizing for when nervous energy is drained.
Galphimia Glauca – This was flowering during the spring/summer lockdown of 2020 and I put it into teas and treatments for months later. It works specifically to recover from anxiety triggered lung and heart muscle tension. I wrote about it in my other article: Herbs for Fear Induced Cramps & Spasms – Asthma, Bronchitis, Abdominal Cramps
