Secrets of Regeneration – Destiny & Herbs

A bunch of cut daffodils were in a vase on a table. This was the sight that met my Granddad’s eyes as he walked into the house. After decades of not knowing where his children were, if they were even alive, of thinking he had no descendants left, he was walking into a house where his grand daughter Mary, her husband Richard, and their ten year old daughter Anna, lived.

He described to me, the flowers on the table, the pink tablecloth, the white curtains, the grey-green sofas, the russet-brown carpet, the smell of roses in the air from the garden, the books on the side table.

I was impatient. I asked him to get to when he saw them – his grand daughter and great grand daughter.

He said to me, “The clock struck twelve in the afternoon. I got up to my feet. And they came down the stairs and then in through the door. My grandchild was like the moon walking and her child holding her hand like a piece of the moon.”

He then went silent and I let him be.

After a while he said to me, “Cara, look at my finger nails.”

I did. They seemed quite normal to me.

“They used to turn black,” he said, “Now and then, when I thought it was time to die.”

I waited for him to continue. He seemed to take forever.

“My child, your destiny is a force even your body cannot defy. Destiny brings the flowers back year after year.”

“Why are you telling me this now?”

“Sometimes Destiny will take its time. You have to weather the storm till it’s time.”

“Oh no… I don’t like that phrase ‘weather the storm’.”

“Forget it then,” he waved his hand. “Learn to regenerate yourself, to come back from the ground after being cut down.”

In the years since then, I’ve given it a lot of thought. Regeneration is not just something for people at the end of their lives. It’s what makes children’s wounds heal, and makes us recover from illnesses.

It is the real problem facing modern healthcare – because even allopathic medicines depend on the body’s being able to actually recover from assault.

In a nutshell – ALL real healing is about being able to regenerate oneself.

Secrets of Regeneration

1) Let it be

In sleepy old towns on the highway, that seem to live on despite a ‘lack of interest’ from the rest of the world, is a secret of regeneration. If you just let yourself be, things will work out. Life is powerful on its own.

There’s no need to push life energy. Just let it take its own course. But when it does move….

2) Discover where your heart goes and build a chapel there.

My Granddad told me of this man. When he was three he went to a circus and saw an elephant.

He grew up in London and Liverpool and then moved across the pond to work in the US and he didn’t get to see an elephant in they ears after. At forty five, he was a busy man with a large family and lots of responsibilities. He and my Granddad were sitting in a restaurant as he explained to my Granddad a project he had in mind, something he’d been working towards for decades by then.

He said to my Granddad, “Every time I come so close to actually doing this, something or the other goes wrong. Once I fell and broke my arm. Another time I had a bad case of the hives. Just the day I had a meeting with investors I fell ill with such a terrible cold. The next day, the investors had gone and the cold had disappeared.”

Granddad asked if he had a folder with papers to do with that project on him. He said yes, he did. He carried that folder with him all the time.

He got it out and Granddad smiled.

It was an orange leather zip-up folder with an elephant embossed on it.

“You like elephants?” Granddad asked.

“Oh yes,” the man gushed almost blushing. “They’re such a magnificent animal.”

It turned out the man could speak more about elephants than even his pet project.

That summer, he and his family took a holiday just to see elephants in the wild.

I asked Granddad if the man’s project took off after that. Granddad said, “That is not our business, Cara.”

Granddad would only spend his time and energy removing blocks to the natural flow of emotion, by finding out what the person loved that they were blocking up. He wouldn’t stick around to find out what happened next because he already knew. There were people trying for decades to locate him to tell him that he’d turned their lives around.

Granddad told me that once he was in a ship’s cabin, beneath the level of the water, so, outside the porthole, he could see fish swimming about. A big orange fish noticed him and bumped its nose into the porthole in a ‘Hello’. The fish then swam next to the port hole in company with Granddad for a mile or two. That’s a lot for a fish.

Yet, Granddad said, at the end of the journey, the fish did a big somersault in front of the port hole and looked at Granddad and then did it again… a show of energy and strength.

Granddad laughed. “The fellow was telling me that he had enjoyed our time together. When you do what you love, you feel regenerated at the end and full of beans.”

Find out where your heart goes, and follow it and build a chapel there. Set up your flag there. Make it your world. Live there.

3) Herbs for Regeneration

Herbs are our natural partners in life. They and us manifest together in this world to share our lives together. It’s the first instinct of an animal in this world, on feeling any sort of discomfort or pain or facing a problem, to go looking for a herb to eat.

In a natural environment, you wouldn’t need to go very far or look up things on the internet to find a herb that helped you with your problems. It would appear right near your door, or on the path you took every day.

In today’s world though, they could very well come to you in an email newsletter (*wink) or in one of your social media feeds.

Keep on the lookout for what draws your heart as that is where your healing lies.

Over the years as I’ve experienced many herbs, I’ve zoomed in on three that are my absolute favorites for regeneration, ie. recovery from long term stress, chronic illness, tragedy – emotional or physical that derails life and such.

These herbs will wrap you and cocoon you and help you find in the rubble and shards of your consciousness, the threads of life you need to connect up once again to regenerate your body and your life.

When I tell you about them, I’m telling you about my family, my very close friends, because they’ve nursed me through, like only love can, some conditions that most others never recover from.

My favorite three herbs for regeneration are: Spikenard, Datura and Bamboo.

Spikenard or Nardostachys Jatamansi

found me when I was at zero in every way. I found the essential oil and rubbed it on my wrists after my shower in the evening one day. I sat down to meditate. And the rest is history.

Spikenard loosens the tension in the center of our bodies so energy can flow to wherever it needs to go. That’s all that’s required to change your life forever.

My article on Spikenard – Energy Releasing Deep Healer is here.

Datura or Jimsonweed

found me when I was so muddled up with so many things to do, and none of which led anywhere really. Energy short circuit was how my days and nights went.

It’s for when your vision is so garbled, it feels like you’re viewing the world through multiple lenses that are distorting everything so you don’t know what’s what and who’s who. Accordingly, your energy is all over in the place, surging sometimes, crashed other times.

Datura will simply cut the crap, turn your awareness inwards to what you really need to experience, and give expression to the parts of your sub-conscious screaming for attention.

I use Datura extracted into oil externally for all its benefits. It is my painkiller of choice for all cold-related pain and swelling.

My article on Datura – Deep Space Datura – Truth Serum, Pain Relief and Divine Justice –  has become one of the most visited pages on my website.

Bamboo

isn’t exactly any tradition of medicine’s go-to herb. But got my attention in a big way many years ago when I was taking photographs of two monkeys enjoying chewing on bamboo leaves. In the few seconds it took to focus on my camera on them and zoom in, they went from sitting down like respectable members of society to actually doing it – I mean – really DOING IT – as I clicked and clicked, still thinking bamboo in my head. I became aware of people around me staring at me and then realized it looked like I was making monkey porn.

Since then I’ve realized the amazing restorative powers of Bamboo. It can be taken powdered, infused as a tea or any other way you please.

There are other restorative regeneration experts like Houseleek or Sempervivum but we’ll keep those for another day.

Positive and Negative Polarity – Holistic Recovery with Herbs from Radiotherapy and Radiation Damage

A time comes to every person who takes herbs and natural healing when they have to stop depending on herbs and cross over to being independently healthy again. Very few ever cross that line, and their body ends up developing resistance to the very herbs that are their medicine of choice.

Herbs to stimulate healing, detoxification and so on, are of the positive polarity, or solar, heating, pushing, moving. They include all those processes that are outgoing and heat generating and expanding and energy releasing. Cell growth, cell reproduction, regeneration of damaged tissue, they’re all positive or solar processes.

There are herbs that support the negative polarity or the lunar processes of the body, cooling, contracting and energy retaining.

These have to be taken at just the right time, to help bring the body into balance, into neutral, and then lessened to a point where you don’t need anything but your food and your water to keep healthy.

Just as the heart sends out blood to the entire body, so the heart receives blood from the entire body. It’s something that is happening in every part of us all the time.

Radiation is everywhere in our modern lifestyles, even if you don’t actually go through a radiotherapy session. It is experienced in mild ways across Australia, where I was told by a man who installed cable antennas, you won’t be covered by insurance for skin cancer if you don’t wear a hat when working outdoors. Radiation is delivered by microwaves, is in food that is irradiated to prevent it from spoiling, is generated by mobile phones, and any other number of radiation delivery devices.

Now radiation, simply over-stimulates the cells into the positive polarity causing the cell to release its stored energy, with which it was supposed to live long and reproduce into other cells before it died. When it suddenly releases all its stored energy, it burns out and dies, or goes weak.

This kills cells by making them overwork and get over-heated and, just like food gets heated up and if longer, burned, in the microwave.

This is one reason, radiotherapy is part of current medical treatment of cancer. Technically speaking, it should kill off just the bad boy cells and let the good boy cells be. In practical experience however, that is almost never what happens. Usually the good boys and girls end up weak and susceptible now to even more problems, and those far more widespread than before.

One reason herbal medicine for recovery from radiotherapy works so well is because herbs with high levels of natural energy (note: not all herbs are made alike) quickly supply the body with vital energy so the good boys and girls can keep going until they start functioning again and get back to collecting up energy for their life functions.

But this is where the bridge is. Ask anyone into natural living and they’ll tell you that a time comes when the herbs don’t ‘work’ like they did before.

The body balances out everything, even herbs. After a certain crisis has been crossed, the body will start treating the same herb it treated like gold during the crisis, now like any other food, passing out most of it. The body thinks, “I’m getting so much of it regularly, no point storing it around, let’s store the rarer stuff, this one’s always available.”

So that’s what’s happening on this side of the bridge. You can cross over the bridge now, to the other side, where the cells are all making their own energy like before, where the body is well like before, through one simple thing – energy balancing your cells, so they’re no longer in the state the radiation put them in – which was over-stimulated.

The herbs which help the body recover from over-stimulated, support the negative polarity in the body, or the ‘lunar’ processes.

These herbs don’t work aggressively, their whole benefit is that they are NOT aggressive. Many of these herbs have little white or yellow flowers, and grow as weeds. Most of them make you thirsty – think lunar, think moon, think water – because they help detoxify the body through the water networks of the body.

A few of the Negative Polarity or Lunar herbs that come to mind right now are:

Gelsemium or Yellow Jasmine will bring down a fever, calm an over-heated brain in summer, stop a new mother’s hemorrhage.

The lacy Elderflower (Sambucus) will strengthen the nerve endings of the lungs and other organs as well slowly but surely after a violent epileptic, or asthmatic attack, healing damage caused by spasms and cellular over heating.

Rauwolfia Serpentina or Snakeroot with it’s little white flowers calms an over-heated brain in deep ways, supporting better sleep quality and recovery from the damage caused by mental and emotional stress to the brain and nervous system.

Lily of the Valley or Convallaria – another intoxicating addictive beautiful white flower – you definitely ought not to have too much of it, but in tiny medicinal proportions it releases tension from the nerves around the heart, and the uterus. For recovery from a traumatic shock, it does wonders.

Then there’s the crazy amazing Datura or Moonflower not so tiny, but definitely a lunar flower. This one works by heating the system so much, the system fights back cooling itself and demanding water, lots of it. The nerves cramp tight, really tight and then release. Again, only tiny doses, and it’s better applied externally unless you want a psychedelic trip into the moony roots of you.

Bamboo amazingly supports the negative polarity processes of the body and can make a sudden change for the better when combined with any other natural healing because it supports the body in moving energy around.

Whenever you see a little white flower, know that it supports the negative polarity and the lunar parts of the body.

Our lives are so full of over-stimulation and the residual effects of it, that we couldn’t really have too much of the lunar flowers for a long time to come.

Do remember however that the point of all this is to become energy balanced and when all is said and done, we have to keep energy moving. Energy = Feelings. So keeping our feelings moving through us, through the body is essential, that final last step to becoming self sufficient again.

The Curse of the Bamboo – Bamboo for Fertility, Connectivity, Conduction

In the early 1900s there were recorded two severe famines in and around the wild bamboo forests of the North-East of India. Every thirty years these famines would strike.

The cause of the terrible famines was investigated and discovered. Every thirty years, the bamboo flowered and fruited. The fruit would fall down onto the floor of the forest, where rodents, especially rats feasted on them. This resulted in the virility and fertility of the rats increasing so much – an expert said it was 80 -90 times more than usual – and they reproduced as much very quickly.

The huge population of rats then went out from the forest into the countryside looking for food, eating up everything they possibly could. They’d get into the granaries of the time, into fields and barns and homes.

Therefore the flowering of the bamboo became considered more a curse than a blessing.

Bamboo grows easily all over the world. It’s got wonderful nutrients, in fact it’s a sure way to quickly give your hair and skin and teeth and nails a boost, because it’s got so much silica, one of the building blocks of all those.

What I find most amazing about it is how beneath all of its benefits is its ability to support energy and electric conductivity in the body, and on a consciousness level too.

It’s something you try if you find that the herbs you’re taking, or the nutrition you’re having doesn’t seem to reach where it’s supposed to go.

In every way, if you find that one part of you is all passionate and motivated to do something, that other parts of you don’t seem to be able to support, Bamboo’s the one to help.

Bamboo can be had as a tea, powdered dried leaf or as an extract. A little goes a long way. It works best when you take a little of it over a long period of time, like 6 months to a year.

Speaking of fertility. This funny thing happened to me once. I was in a park trying to take a picture of two monkeys nibbling on Bamboo leaves. Between the time I zoomed in on them and clicked they’d done from just nibbling on leaves companionably to errr.. making love. It was quite embarrassing for me standing there with my camera pointing at them and people staring at me like I’m a pervert.

Well I doubt bamboo would work that quick for humans but who knows, perhaps if you have a really strong tea, you never know.

Almost any health regimen will benefit from a boost to connectivity and connection within the body though.

Note: If you want to collect your Bamboo leaves from a densely populated wild place, make sure you put on some mosquito repellent cream as mosquitoes tend to breed in areas like those Bamboo likes – rather wet, almost swampy. I forgot and my son and I got bit all over the face and arms just before I took this video.
